Winter in Oregon

We are loving it here in Oregon. The weather had been pretty great. During the week it can get kind of hectic and Karl and I don't really get to spend much time together but I love that he always makes an effort to be home and hang out with me in the evenings. A lot of the other husbands end up being on campus studying until about midnight so I am really grateful. Hopefully this persists after the baby is born.

Anyways back to Oregon. We try to do fun things on the weekend and this past weekend we went and explored Seaside beach. The beach was HUGE. As you can see there is a lot of great sand behind Karl and the beach went on forever. Once I got over my fear of walking barefoot among the broken shells (another confession. I have an irrational fear of severing the tendon that runs along the bottom of my foot) it was great. We found enormous shells and even some sand dollars!!! Another lifelong dream fulfilled. (I know. I am weird.)
Here is Karl with all the hotels in the background. Seaside really is a pretty cool little town.

That night we went frogging with some friends. Here are our catches. We ended up with four frogs, a salamander, and a worm. They ended up being a lot harder to find than we anticipated but we were still successful. The cops stopped to ask what we were doing. Apparently this is not something people do everyday. We sure had fun though.

  1. Haha Frogging huh? I'm not really that surprised its not something people do all of the time! They look so slimy! It's probably nice to be so close to some beautiful beaches. I would love the endless sand!
