Fishing

Fish: Slippery, slimy, smelly, and gross. Why would anyone want to go fishing? Because it is a blast!

Me, Karl and Nick have gone fishing twice in the past two weeks and it was really fun. The first time Nick was the only one who caught a fish. It was FREEZING and even started snowing on us. Needless to say I headed back to the truck before the guys. Then this past Saturday we went again.

This time we left at 6 and went up to Silver Lake in American Fork Canyon. I recommend it if just for the ride up. I'm glad we were in Nick's car with 4-wheel drive though and not our little Nissan. It was a pretty narrow rocky steep road but it was really fun. When we got to the lake it was freezing again but we were a little more prepared. At least it wasn't snowing so that was a plus. This time Karl was catching fish like crazy! For awhile there he would cast and within 30 seconds the fish would be nibbling. It was nuts. He ended up catching about 11 fish in one trip. Nick and I scrounged up 3 between the two of us but Karl was by far the winner. (My excuse...Me and Nick took a break while the fish were biting like crazy to try and warm up. Plus Karl needed someone to put on his worms and take of the fish because his hands were frozen and numb). It couldn't have been a more beautiful day. Now we just need it to warm up a little bit.

So despite the fact that I really really REALLY don't like eating fish (although Tony did a great job cooking them) I think I'll just stick to catch and release.

Memory Lane

Today I spent about 5 hours on the computer and I feel like I was actually being productive for most of the time. I decided that it would be a good idea to make back up copies of all our pictures. One of our computers died awhile ago and I'm not sure if we lost the pictures on there but I really didn't want that happening to our other pics if I could help it. So I spent the day sorting through pictures. Coping them onto CD's. And trying to find ones that had been lost. It was really fun going through so many old memories. I think my favorite part was watching all the videos. Karl and I have had so much fun together. It's rededicated me to wanting to take pictures. It was a blast reliving some of those moments, like the attack of the squirrel eating bird, Karl trying to kill me with firecrackers, and watching Karl talk to a cute little Mexican girl on our honeymoon (he's such a sweetie). So if it's been awhile since you dusted off your old photo albums maybe it's time to crack them open. Memory Lane is a great place to visit.
